Pieter was born in Dubuque but raised in Moline. The youngest of Joe & Annmarie Hanson’s 7 kids. Pieter went to Alleman Highschool and Blackhawk College. After high school he joined the US Navy reserves and served 12 years as an active reservist. Pieter worked for 12 years in retail sales and 10 years in banking before getting his real estate license in both Iowa and Illinois in 2007. Pieter and his partner Julie live in Coal Valley where Julie owns Mallard Point Kennel with her sister, Blair Williams. Pieter also owns Mulligan’s Valley Pub and the Coal Creek Inn, both in Coal Valley. In his spare time he enjoys Golf, Hunting and fishing, riding his Harley Davidson and maintaining the acreage around their home. Pieter and Julie have 3 dogs, Silo 6, and Alphie 1 year (Swiss Mountain Dogs) and a cavalier named Smith.
